My interest in woodworking started as a child when my grandfather would take me with him into his garage shop. He would let me watch him and one day pointed to a barrel of scrap wood he had saved. He gave me a hammer and pointed to some nails in a small jar and said those were for me. I was thrilled and started pounding away happily making what was to me wonderful toys and airplanes, doll furniture and the like.I felt so proud as I was the only one allowed to "work" with his tools. Of course I was the only grandchild old enough at the time, but that didnt matter to me as I felt very special.
